Focus on Water…
It is evident that water holds a singular place of importance for South Florida, as it does for all the Earth, and that this vital resource—and, therefore, also, the fragile ecologies that depend on it—is in danger. EcoArt, with its strong emphasis on community engagement and animation, can be a powerful partner toward the building of strong public support for, and involvement in, water sustainability strategies.
EASF has a goal of establishing an “EcoArt Node” in each of South Florida’s five watersheds by 2015. The map here shows the general outlines of South Florida’s five watersheds that include part or all of 16 counties in the region. In 2011, a geography class at Dartmouth produced a group of highly detailed GIS maps to assist EASF in identifying best locations for these EcoArt Nodes.See the detailed maps at EcoArt Dartmouth Study PDF
