Support for EcoArt South Florida

How EcoArt South Florida  supports itself

  • Paid Consultancies. The intention is for all EcoArt SoFla initiatives to be self-supporting and produced as integral, ongoing programmatic areas of key environmental advocacy or amelioration groups or public agencies, or of key cultural organizations within the South Florida region. Such groups may be private or governmental. EcoArt SoFla will seek paid consultancies with such organizations to assist them in developing programs that will utilize EcoArt to further these groups’ ongoing goals and activities; and to assist them in integrating EcoArt into their plans.

  • Grants. EcoArt SoFla received approval from IRS for 501 c 3 nonprofit status in the summer of 2009. Most grantors, especially government funders, require that a nonprofit be in excellent operational status for three years before they are eligible to receive grants. EcoArt South Florida will have achieved three years with 501 c 3 status in the summer of 2012, with many excellent projects to show for our efforts over this period. The organization has served successfully as a fiscal sponsor in the two year period form Summer 2009-Summer 2011. We have also requested selection by the MSO Nonprofits First as a target “upstart” organization to begin receiving guidance and assistance in organizational capacity starting in the Fall of 2011.

  • Direct Community Support. In the near future, EcoArt SoFla will begin a direct community support campaign targeting the stakeholder constituencies in South Florida with whom we must develop strong ties in order to achieve our goals. The primary mechanism for community support will be a membership campaign. A secondary mechanism will be fees for presentations and lectures, including events that will offer CEUs to professionals in our target stakeholder constituencies (architects, planners, engineers, environmental professionals).
